SEDDS® BioFolate is also known as “L-Methylfolate” which is a more bioavailable form of Folic Acid. The human body has a limited ability to transform synthetic folic acid into an active form of folate. L-Methylfolate is highly preferable for human body direct absorption.*

Folate is one of the eight types of B vitamins found in our body. It naturally occurs in foods including asparagus, broccoli, avocado, and dark leafy greens etc. Together with other B vitamins, folate plays an important role in nervous system health and function.

L-Methylfolate is a bioavailable form of folate, being able to cross the blood-brain barrier. Due to genetic variations, many populations may not have the ability to convert folate to its usable form in the body. For those populations, L-Methylfolate supplementation is far more effective in providing the bioavailable form of folate.

L-Methylfolate also supports healthy homocysteine (an amino acid) levels (high levels of homocysteine are sometimes associated with cardiovascular issues). Irregularities in homocysteine concentrations in the body are linked to heart attacks and stroke*
